Groundwork Foundation superannuation: EPA 1990 s. 154
This provision adds the Groundwork Foundation to the list of employments under the Superannuation Act 1972, retroactively deeming it always included.
Employment with the Groundwork Foundation shall be and shall be deemed always to have been included among the kinds of employment to which a superannuation scheme under section 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972 can apply, and accordingly in Schedule 1 to that Act (in which those kinds of employment are listed) the words “ Groundwork Foundation ” shall be inserted after the words “Gaming Board for Great Britain”.

What it actually says
This section amends the Superannuation Act 1972 by adding the Groundwork Foundation to the list of employments covered by that Act's superannuation scheme. It also provides that employment with the Groundwork Foundation has always been considered covered, even before this amendment. This is a technical change to ensure pension rights for employees of the Foundation under the existing superannuation framework.
When it applies
- An employee of the Groundwork Foundation applies for a pension under the Superannuation Act 1972.
- A former employee claims pension rights based on past employment with the Groundwork Foundation.
- The Groundwork Foundation notifies its employees that their employment is now covered by the superannuation scheme.
- The government updates Schedule 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972 to include the Groundwork Foundation.
- A court considers whether employment with the Groundwork Foundation qualifies for superannuation benefits.
What this section does not say
- It does not set the amount of pension or other benefits payable.
- It does not apply to other environmental bodies such as the Environment Agency.
- It does not affect the Groundwork Foundation's other operations or activities.
- It does not provide for any other employee benefits beyond superannuation.
That's the law. Now let's settle your problem.
Say what is happening. A neutral mediator hears your side and the other party's, and walks you both to a written agreement. In the advanced settings you can ask for the decision to be reasoned on the Acts of Parliament that apply in England and Wales.
Or open a session directly and invite the other party.
